HMC NEWS: HMC Communications named Small PR Consultancy of the Year

Hamilton-based public relations agency, HMC Communications, was named the winner of the Small PR Consultancy of the Year at last week’s 44th Public Relations Institute of New Zealand (PRINZ) annual industry awards.

Additionally, the agency won the Sustainable PR Award for their work with King Country Energy over the past five years. The agency helped King Country Energy to create a community relations programme that contributed toward keeping customer churn levels at around 1.5% year on year, crushing the electricity industry average of around 20%. This project was led by account manager Beth Chapman.

Peta Goldsworthy and Charlotte FitzPatrick were also awarded Highly Commended in the Short-Term Campaign category of the PRINZ awards. This was for their work on launching CRV Ambreed’s LowN Sires, a genetics game-changer for breeding greener cows.

Beth Chapman received a High Commended Award in the Young Professional of the Year category. While senior strategic advisor, Peta Goldsworthy, was welcomed into the PRINZ College of Fellows.

Director, Heather Claycomb, says, “I’m personally incredibly proud of our amazing team. Each and every one of our eight team members has incredible strengths in many different areas of public relations. Their professionalism, PR knowledge and dedication to our clients is the reason we’ve been able to achieve this accolade.

“Our clients provide us with a wide range of interesting brands and projects to work on. And we thank them for trusting us to build and maintain their reputations.”

The PRINZ awards are designed to recognise outstanding public relations work and highlight the importance of good communications across every aspect of society.

The PRINZ Awards gala dinner was held on Wednesday 30 May at Claudelands Events Centre in Hamilton.
