The client: Chris Williams is managing director at local advertising agency King Street Advertising.

The challenge: For five years, Chris Williams had been pouring his heart and soul into writing his own musical, by the name of State Highway 48. Upon finishing the script, his dream was to turn it into a regionally and eventually nationally recognised show. But if the news of his musical was to successfully reach a Waikato-wide audience, he needed some substantial media attention.

The solution: Armed with strong story-writing prowess and an extensive database of media contacts, HMC helped Chris achieve widespread media attention for State Highway 48. We wrote an array of articles prior to and following the musical’s debut and pitched them to local media, with more than a dozen published in local newspapers during the month of the debut. Chris Williams achieved sell-out audiences and great reviews, and is looking to roll his show out across the country as time
