Bethany joined the HMC Communications team as Communications Coordinator in December 2013.
She began her professional communications career in the health sector at Waikato District Health Board at the end of 2012 where she worked for one year as a maternity leave cover.
Bethany has experience in a wide array of public relations subsets, most notably marketing communications, community relations, corporate communications and media relations. Her major clients are in the energy and health industries.
Before entering the communications industry Bethany completed her Bachelor of Communication Studies at the University of Waikato with first class honours.
During her time at university, Bethany was Media Manager for the Management Communication Students Association (MCSA) and was a winner of the 2011 Chesterman Group Public Relations Campaign Award.
Bethany is an active member of the Public Relations Institute of New Zealand (PRINZ).
In her spare time, Beth enjoys walks to local café’s with her hubby, a spot of baking, and trips to Stanmore Bay and Christchurch to visit family.

Three things you didn't know about Bethany:
- She happened to be in the heart of Christchurch CBD – eating Subway for lunch – when the February 2012 earthquake hit
- She’s half Irish – ‘the troubles’ brought her Mum and her family from Belfast to New Zealand when she was just 10 years old. She’s never visited, but it’s on the bucket list
- She lost feeling in half her tongue after nerve damage from wisdom teeth extraction
